Ken is a well respected property expert with extensive experience offering a unique blend of primary underwriting, reinsurance underwriting, as well as ceded and assumed reinsurance experience. In addition, he brings a reputation of providing outstanding service and solutions to the broker market as well on a direct basis.
Client and producer relationships and trust built up over the years has been critical to Ken’s success of building profitable portfolios of property reinsurance business. Underwriting discipline has been demonstrated by achieving consistently profitable results over a long period of time.

Over 30 years insurance underwriting and reinsurance experience
Ken joined Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection & Insurance Company in 1984 and held a variety of underwriting management positions during his career. Responsibilities included property and boiler & machinery underwriting, management of ceded reinsurance, corporate treaty and facultative reinsurance programs, underwriting management for HSB/General Re International Joint Venture, and Underwriting Division management.
In 1998, Ken began a start-up division, HSB Specialty Re as Vice President and Chief Underwriter. With his management oversight, underwriting expertise and industry contacts, the portfolio achieved steady growth and profitability based on a sound underwriting platform.
Professional Underwriting Associates, LLC (PUA) was formed in 2007 with services including outsource property underwriting, developing and growing start-up portfolios, sourcing and pre-screening new prospects, distribution and placement services.
